Bláskógabyggð, IcelandWater pours over the layered ledges of Gullfoss in Iceland as white curtains, and a veil of mist leans at the left against a frosted bank. A dark rock shelf splits the flow, and beyond it the river runs smooth toward the far bend. The right-hand cliff is a massive orange-brown block, patched with ice at its foot. Gravel and frost cover the near ground. A band of gray cloud with a pale underlight crosses the sky, and a handful of tiny figures can be seen standing on the distant left ridge.
