Two tiers of Gullfoss in Iceland stack up beneath a blue sky streaked with cloud. The upper step runs diagonally in white bands, and the lower plunge falls into a deep notch that curves out of sight. On the right, the canyon wall carries a dark basalt face with frozen patches along its top edge. The path on the left slope zigzags down toward a rocky bend, and the near ground is covered in white crust. Orange light hits the plateau on both sides, while the middle of the gorge stays cool and blue-green.
