Rangárþing eystra, IcelandA steep hillside of golden grass folds down toward a hidden drop, with layered rock showing through in dark ridges. At the lower right, white water curves over the edge of the falls and disappears into spray. Far to the left, a few red-roofed farm buildings sit on a green patch in the valley, and gulls dot the cliff face. The pool at the lower left is a dark blue-gray with fine ripples. Mist gathers at the foot of the rock wall, softening the lowest part of the slope. The slope has slumped in places, leaving dark patches of bare earth among the grass.
