Seogwipo-siLate-autumn atmosphere permeates the coast at Goseong-ri in Seogwipo-si, where the sea extends in graduated bands of aquamarine and steel blue toward a horizon softened by distant maritime haze. The October wind raises a light chop on the nearshore surface, fragmenting reflected light into scattered points that give the water a textured, almost tactile quality when viewed in the vertical frame. The sense of distance in this image is remarkable, the clear autumn air allowing visibility that seems to stretch beyond the curvature of the earth itself. Goseong-ri's position on Jeju's southeastern tip places it at the edge of the warm Tsushima Current's influence, where water temperatures remain mild enough to support subtropical marine species well into the autumn months.
