Suncheon-siIn the garden trails of Suncheon Bay National Garden near Seonhak-ri, early autumn settles over landscaped hillsides in layers of muted green and gold. The garden, opened in 2013 as Korea's first national garden, occupies a valley between low mountains in South Jeolla Province, and its September palette reflects the region's warmer climate where autumn arrives weeks later than in Seoul. Carefully graded pathways wind between themed garden zones, each one designed to showcase different aspects of Korean and international landscape architecture.
