The forested hillside occupies the lower quarter of the frame, its canopy showing the patchwork of early autumn, dark green pines mixed with deciduous trees beginning to turn gold, orange, and russet. Beyond the treeline, the city stretches endlessly, apartment towers and office buildings filling the middle distance in a dense band of gray and white that extends to the horizon where more mountains rise as blue-gray silhouettes.
