The rocky shoreline of Udohaean-gil in Jeju takes on a quiet grandeur as the sun dips below the horizon on a May evening, painting the sky in graduated bands of soft peach, lavender, and pale blue. Dark volcanic basalt boulders fill the foreground, their rough surfaces catching the last warm reflections off the still water, while a few stacked stone cairns stand silhouetted on the right edge of the frame. Across the calm strait, the distinctive silhouette of a volcanic cone - likely the eastern tip of Udo island - rises against the glowing sky, its ridge softened by atmospheric haze. Behind it, the undulating hills of Jeju's main island stretch toward the right in progressively lighter shades of gray and blue. The water between the rocks and the distant landmasses is almost mirror-smooth, broken only by the faintest ripple, reflecting the gradient of the sky and adding a luminous band to the middle of the composition. It is a scene of absolute stillness, where the ancient volcanic geology of Jeju meets the fleeting beauty of twilight.
