Xã Mường Khoa, VietnamSeveral layers of temple roof rise out of dense fog, their upturned corners finished with carved dragon-like ornaments. At the left, a curved ridge carries a bundle of small metal tubes hanging from the eave, while the central roof climbs to a thin pointed tip. On the right, another corner curls upward beside a small bronze bell and a block of grey stone masonry. Tiles along the ridges form scalloped edges that stay easy to follow even in the haze. The roofs are nearly black near the bottom and fade to pale grey higher up, with a plain white sky behind them.
