The low sun catches tree trunks and branches in warm amber tones while the surrounding woods deepen into purple and blue shadow. A well-worn dirt trail winds between the trees, its surface scattered with dried leaves from the previous autumn. The forest canopy, stripped of foliage, creates an intricate network of branches that lets the fading sky show through in fragments of peach and gold. Ansan's trails are among Seoul's most accessible urban hiking routes, and late winter sunsets like this reward the handful of walkers who linger past the usual afternoon hours.
