SeoulSamobawi - the famous "Four Monk Rocks" formation - rises dramatically against a deep blue May sky in the Bukhansan National Park area of Pyeongchang-dong, Seoul, its massive granite boulder perched at an improbable angle atop a base of similarly weathered stone. The rock's surface is textured with the characteristic rounded granitic weathering patterns of Bukhansan's peaks, its warm grey-beige tones catching the strong midday light and standing out sharply against the saturated blue sky. Below and behind the rock formation, the ridgeline of Bukhansan extends across the background in a series of jagged granite peaks interspersed with dense green forest that has reached its full spring canopy. The foreground is filled with low scrub vegetation, young pine trees, and azalea bushes, their spring growth adding vivid green and occasional pink accents to the rocky terrain.
