MokpoFrom an elevated vantage on Yudalsan, Mokpo's iconic mountain, the sea and harbor unfold in a panoramic sweep of blue-gray and silver. The 228-meter peak offers some of the most dramatic coastal views in southwestern Korea, and this late November perspective captures the harbor's full extent as it curves around the mountain's base. The cool, hazy atmosphere compresses distances, making the scattered islands of the archipelago appear to float in a continuous gradient between sea and sky. Yudalsan's trails have been a gathering place for Mokpo residents since the Joseon dynasty, and the mountain remains the emotional heart of the city, its summit a place where locals come to watch ships enter the harbor at dusk.
