MokpoMokpo's western harbor edge presents a study in maritime geometry, where breakwaters, seawalls, and port structures create angular patterns against the calm surface of the Yellow Sea. The late November atmosphere lends the scene a muted, almost monochromatic quality in blue and gray, with the water and sky merging at a barely perceptible horizon line. The architectural elements of the port infrastructure possess an unintentional sculptural quality when seen from this distance, their functional forms abstracted into compositions of line and mass. This section of Mokpo's waterfront has changed less than the commercial center, retaining the essential shapes and rhythms of a harbor that has operated continuously since the late 19th century.
