Sveitarfélagið Hornafjörður, Iceland
Sveitarfélagið Hornafjörður, IcelandRippled blue ice rolls across the foreground, the pattern of small scoops catching bright edges of light. The sun sits behind a thin grey cloud on the upper left, ringed with gold, while a high layer of mackerel clouds fills the rest of the sky. A dark band of volcanic plain stretches across the middle distance, and a pale lagoon lies beyond the ridge of ice at the right. A few chunks of black-streaked ice rest by the shore, in southern Iceland. The slope bends in a long curve from left to right, and faint blue shadows collect in each hollow of the surface.
