Sveitarfélagið Hornafjörður, IcelandTwo tall walls of pale blue ice lean toward each other, leaving only a thin crack through which bright sky shows near the top. The surfaces are folded and rippled, with fine dark lines and darker teal shading deeper in the gap. At the bottom, a small chunk of white ice and a patch of grit sit in the shadow. The color shifts from chalky blue at the edges to deep turquoise toward the center of the fissure. Smooth, soft light fills the entire scene inside the glacier. Its fine ridges run in straight lines, and the narrow opening gives the whole frame a strong sense of depth and cold.
