Cherry BlossomThe sun descends between two towering Silla-dynasty burial mounds near Gyerim-ro in Gyeongju-si, casting an intense golden glow through the gap that illuminates the grassy slopes in warm saffron light. The mounds frame the sunset like a natural gateway, with the orb visible just above the distant mountain ridge. High mackerel clouds fill the upper sky in a textured pattern of warm gold and cream, adding dramatic depth to the scene. The near slope of the left mound falls into deep green shadow, its grass still vivid and lush in the August humidity, while the right mound catches full sunset light across its entire face. Pink crape myrtle trees line the wooden-fenced path below, and a few figures walk through this corridor of ancient tombs. This perfectly timed sunset shot captures one of Gyeongju's most photogenic moments when the sun aligns between the thousand-year-old burial mounds.
