Auronzo di Cadore, ItalyThe tall northern faces of Tre Cime di Lavaredo stand above a narrow snow ridge, lit from the left. The nearest tower glows in orange and tan, while its neighbor is darker gray with white lines of snow clinging to the ledges. Fresh snow lies on the slope below, and a thin crest of white leads toward the foot of the rock. Behind the peaks a very deep blue sky carries soft clouds, and low snowy mountains show at the lower right. Small chips and narrow ledges in the cliff give the rock a rough, stacked texture.
