A large pine trunk fills the left edge, its dark bark and green needles framing the scene. Far away, a rounded peak rises between two ridges, softened by atmosphere. Dark conifers gather on the right-hand slope, and a lone boulder sits on the pale rock near them. Hairline cracks cross the smooth foreground like thin brown threads. The sky is clear and deep blue, with only a few tiny clouds near the upper right, and the distant layers lighten step by step toward the horizon.
