SeoulA narrow earthen trail disappears into a dense canopy of spring foliage near Tongcheonmun in Seoul's Pyeongchang-dong neighborhood. Towering deciduous trees spread their fresh green leaves in every direction, creating layers of emerald, lime, and chartreuse that filter the late afternoon sunlight into a soft, dappled glow. The path is lined with low shrubs and wild undergrowth, giving the scene a sense of untamed nature remarkably close to the city center. Thick tree trunks anchor the left side of the frame while younger growth fills the middle ground, and small patches of blue sky are barely visible through the overhead canopy. The warm May light gives the entire forest a luminous, almost glowing quality that makes the greens appear to radiate from within. This mountain trail near Bugaksan offers a complete escape from urban Seoul, with nothing but birdsong and rustling leaves to break the stillness.
