A cluster of slender spires climbs toward a blue sky streaked with faint cloud on the roof of Milan Cathedral. The tallest one near the center carries a small statue at its tip, and several shorter pinnacles stand beside it. To the right, the curved arms of flying buttresses sweep up with carved rosette patterns along their edges. Statues stand in niches at the lower center, and pale stone catches warm sunlight while the shaded sides turn grey. Below, an open archway shows glimpses of another window and wall. Pale upright shafts of stone support the arches, and darker patches mark where rain has stained the surface.
