The hills are dark with bare winter branches and patches of evergreen, and a few low buildings sit at the foot of the slope on the left. A long, low weir crosses the river in the middle distance, where white water spills in thin lines. The surface in front glitters with scattered reflections, and tiny birds float near the left edge. A dry grass bank and a concrete channel wall run diagonally across the lower right corner, leading the eye toward the far hills.
