High-rise apartment towers rise in a uniform wall along the horizon behind a foreground of dried winter reeds and dormant farmland near the Incheondaegyo Expressway in Songdo. The towers, perhaps twenty to thirty stories tall, stand in a dense row that stretches across the entire frame, their gray and beige facades catching the flat December afternoon light. Street lamps have just switched on, adding dots of warm light between the buildings and the reed field.
