Iguazu Falls stretches across the middle of the frame as a long line of white cascades, set below a forest ridge and a clear blue sky. Pale mist rises where the water meets the rock, and a reddish cliff face shows at lower left. Walkways run faintly along the top of the falls, giving a sense of how far away the water is. In the foreground, bright green treetops and leafy branches fill the lower third, with a small sandy patch visible between the trees. The sky takes up nearly half the picture and fades slightly paler toward the horizon, with only a few thin wisps of cloud.
