Rangárþing ytra, IcelandThe aurora folds into a bright hook of yellow green light, curling inward at the bottom like the lip of a wave. Behind it a dimmer green haze spreads across the right half of the sky, and a few dark gaps interrupt the glow. At the lower left, a black slope falls away on a steep diagonal. Small star trails show as thin streaks of white and blue, and one orange dot hangs low near the center. The darkest part of the sky above the hook has a faint reddish brown cast. The green is deepest in the hook itself and thins out gradually toward the upper right.
