Along West Rim Drive in Arizona, a rocky outcrop in the left foreground still catches some warmth, its flat-lying layers and small clusters of juniper clearly visible. Behind it, the canyon opens into hazy purple ridges that grow fainter with distance. A narrow ribbon of river glints near the right side, reflecting the last glow. Low clouds along the horizon turn red and orange, while higher streaks of cloud drift in soft violet tones above the far rim.
