The far rim stretches flat across the middle, and the canyon below is a mass of dark red-brown ridges and benches with narrow level lines. A rough cliff with scrub and steep cracks rises at the lower left. Distant blue mesas sit faintly on the right edge. Strong red near the horizon gives way to softer orange above, and the dark canyon holds only a trace of warmth in its layered rock.
