Thick, furrowed trunks frame both sides, their bark dark brown and deeply grooved. Cut logs lie stacked along the path, some pale where the wood is freshly exposed. A few branches carry rust-colored needles, and a small green fir stands near the trail. The light is soft and filtered, with silvery gray at the far end of the lane, giving the forest a cool, quiet tone.
