Beyond it, Deià's honey-colored houses climb the hillside in layers, with green shutters and pale blue doors. Olive trees, cypress and low palms fill the gaps between the buildings. A bright sun flare shines at the top, and forested ridges roll away behind the village. Two parked cars sit at the lower left, small against the dense greenery. The palm trunk is rough and brown, with old leaf bases circling the top. Beyond the village, forest-covered hills roll back toward a lighter ridge, and small clouds sit in the distance at left.
