On the left a stepped red cliff rises in thin level ledges, its face lit warm against the cool shadows below. Far across the gap, layered mesas sit under bands of white cloud and a darker gray sky. A single large bird glides in the middle distance, small and black against the pale ground. At the lower right, orange gravel and a few pale boulders mark the trail edge. Shadows from passing clouds slide across the gray-green basin, darkening some terraces while leaving others pale.
