South Tyrol, ItalyTwilight has turned the sky a cool blue-violet over a small South Tyrol village, where a church with a pointed spire stands among scattered houses. Sharp rock peaks rise behind it with snow in their folds, topped by dark, heavy cloud that has drained most of the warmth from the scene. The conifer hills on both sides are nearly black, and the lower meadow has gone a muted deep green. A pale road curves from the left edge toward the houses, and a few lights and small roofs mark the slopes at right. The rock still keeps a faint tan glow.
