Sexten - Sesto, ItalyA dark gray summit rises steeply above a conifer valley, its upper faces streaked with melting snow. Pale scree runs down the lower slope in long diagonal lines, and a band of green larch trees stands at the foot of the mountain. On the right the ground is still patched with white snow, and on the far left the weathered trunk of a wooden sculpture enters the frame. A low fence sits at the bottom edge. The sky is a uniform pale gray, so the rock tones, the scattered snow and the green trees carry all the contrast.
