Multiple sets of waves roll toward the viewer in parallel ridges, their crests catching the winter sunlight and turning momentarily translucent in shades of aquamarine and jade before collapsing into white foam. The largest wave in the center of the composition is captured mid-break, its curling face revealing the luminous turquoise color of the water lit from behind by the afternoon sun. A single yellow navigation buoy stands upright in the right portion of the frame, its bright color providing the only warm accent in this otherwise cool blue composition. The sky above is a pale, clean blue with only the faintest wisps of cloud near the horizon, creating a minimal and meditative division between sea and air.
