Their tips are pale and dry, while the sides are shaded yellow-brown and cut by thin parallel grooves. A small green shrub grows at the lower left, and a single tall pinnacle with a dark cap stands apart on the right. Beyond the spires, a faint line of bluish mountains sits at the left edge of the horizon. The sun is high and slightly behind the formation, creating a bright glare near the top of the sky and giving the rock edges a clear outline.
