HanokCrystal-clear turquoise water fills the lower half of the frame in a stunning display of Jeju Island's winter coastal beauty, the shallow seafloor visible through water so transparent it could pass for a tropical lagoon. Dark volcanic basalt rocks line the immediate foreground shore, their rough black surfaces pockmarked by centuries of wave erosion and speckled with patches of dried seaweed and hardy coastal vegetation. Across the sheltered bay, a low-rise village dots the far shoreline, its modest buildings sitting behind traditional Jeju stone walls that trace the coast.
