Cafe CultureFrom the same elevated coastal vantage point moments later, the view shifts to reveal a broader sweep of Korea's southern coastline where mountains cascade down to meet the sea in a dramatic display of the country's rugged maritime geography. A rural village occupies the valley floor, its collection of houses with orange, blue, and gray roofs set between terraced rice paddies glowing in the vivid green of August and the forested hillsides that climb steeply on either side. The rice fields create geometric blocks of saturated emerald that contrast sharply with the darker, more chaotic green of the natural forest canopy above them.
