Inside a large shopping complex in Hanam-si, a towering Christmas tree installation spirals upward through the atrium, its evergreen boughs heavy with oversized red, gold, and white ornaments, faux snow, and thousands of warm LED lights. The tree rises past multiple floors, its peak crowned by a white carousel-like structure with classical columns and a red-striped canopy that suggests a Victorian fairground. The scale is enormous, the tree easily reaching four or five stories, and the upward-looking portrait angle captures the full dizzying height from ornament-laden branches at eye level to the decorative crown above. Artificial snow dusts the needles throughout, adding a wintry softness to the glossy ornaments. Korea's mega-malls compete fiercely each December to create elaborate holiday centerpieces, and Hanam's Starfield complex has become one of the Seoul metropolitan area's most popular destinations for these seasonal spectacles. The warm lighting against the neutral white ceiling creates a cozy glow that draws families and couples throughout the holiday season.
