Coconino County, United StatesA broad sheet of bright orange cloud covers the upper sky above the Grand Canyon, fading to blue-gray on the left and to coral near the horizon. Small red-pink clouds dot the middle, and a dark band of cloud lies across the horizon where a last streak of yellow shows. The canyon below is deep brown and nearly black, with cliffs and benches in clear layers. A narrow bend of river glows pale at the center right. At the left a steep, scrub-dotted cliff fills the lower corner, and at the lower right a thin sandy ribbon bends through the dark floor. The sky dominates, with the gorge as a quiet base.
