Foz do Iguaçu, BrazilA coati lowers its head into thick undergrowth beside a forest path in Brazil. Its brown-gray fur looks coarse, with pale rims on the rounded ears and light markings around the dark eye and snout. The animal fills the lower left, mostly seen from the side and above, while the nose pushes into a tangle of leaves. Tall grass blades rise at the left, and broad green leaves crowd the right half. Small yellow flowers and a few white blooms are scattered near the animal's face, and dry brown leaves lie on the ground at the left. The light is soft and even, without strong shadows.
